August 2009 Principal's Message
Dear Greenbrook Community:
I am thrilled to join the wonderful staff and
community at Greenbrook Elementary School as
principal. I am passionate about working with staff, students and parents in
providing our students with the best opportunity to succeed during these early
years and beyond.
Originally from the Northwest,
I was raised in Oregon and attended high
school inTacoma WA. I received my Bachelors in English and education
from Washington State University(Go Cougars!) and my
Masters in Education from the University of Washington. I taught
English in the Seattle area for nine years, before the birth of our two daughters. In addition, during that time, I was a
Fulbright exchange teacher to Cambridge,
England for one
year.
In 1995, our family relocated to Danvilleand we have loved living and raising
our children in this vibrant, busy community!
Our daughters, Allison and Katie, attended Sycamore, Charlotte Wood and
San Ramon Valley High School. They have been involved in swimming, soccer,
track, basketball, and volleyball. Allison, 22, played soccer at Stanford and
graduated in June with a degree in American Studies. Currently, she is a
starting defender for the Los Angeles SOL in the new Women’s Professional
Soccer League. Katie, 20, a junior at UCLA, is majoring in sociology. This
summer finds her at the LA Superior Courthouse working for the JusticeCorps,
providing free legal assistance to those in need. She gets her sports fix
through the UCLA Ultimate Frisbee team. My husband, Brad, is a consultant in
the telecommunications business. He is wonderfully supportive and we are
enjoying our first years of “empty nesting.
I began my administrative career in 1998 at SycamoreElementary School. In 2002, I changed
positions and served as Vice Principal at Thomas Hart Middle
School in Pleasanton.
Three years ago, I returned to the San Ramon School
District as the Assistant Principal at Iron Horse Middle
School. In January, I had the pleasure of moving to Hidden Hills Elementary as
Assistant Principal. It was wonderful to return to the elementary community!
In my free time, I enjoy watching sports, hiking,
swimming, water and snow skiing, snow shoeing, biking, reading, cooking, and
walking our frisky lab mix, Max! This summer we vacationed “back home” in Seattle with my family and in New
Hampshire with Brad’s mother and extended family on beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee.
I can’t wait to meet you and your family and I
look forward to a long lasting partnership as together we provide opportunities
for our Eagles to soar into the 21st Century!
